...Sorry, we don't have any at the minute (possibly not long til we have some vacancies opening though)... but bouldering coaching is becoming more professional and new national coaching courses being launched in the autumn across centres big and small will require minimum qualifications.

Here's a good starting point, the training part of a course running here at Climb Newcastle that will meet the minimum requirements to coach the first 3 levels of the new National Indoor Bouldering Award Scheme at an awarding centre...


Mountain Training Foundation Coach Award - Friday June 6th 2014 @ Climb Newcastle

Introduction
The scheme is designed to develop the coaching skills of those working in climbing walls, sport climbing and bouldering.

Course Aims
This course is designed to enable coaches to be more effective in coaching the delivery of the fundamental movement skills of climbing. Foundation Coaches will usually be concerned with the stimulating delivery of a single session to a group.

Venue: Climb Newcastle

Dates: 6th June 2014 (09:00-17:30)

Course Cost: 60

Assessment:
Note the course cost does not cover assessment for the award, which takes place on a separate date.

Equipment:
You will need climbing shoes, chalk and suitable clothing. Most of the day will be practical (where possible) and there will also be theory sessions.
